Of Miscellaneous Things

Katie awarded/tagged me! Thanks Katie! :)

1. If you blog anonymously, are you happy doing this? If you aren't anonymous do you wish you started out anonymously, so that you could be anonymous now? Well, I am anonymous, and I like it. While I would love to tell each and every one of you my real name, I also like being anonymous because the Internet is a scary place.

2. Describe an incident that shows your inner stubborn side: Um, wow, there's so many. lol :D How about the time when I was in Kindergarten (I was attending Public School then) and mom made me wear these stretchy, green tights with a white turtle neck shirt. I was mortified that I had to go to school in that. I didn't want to get out of the car and I was balling my eyes out. Ha!

3. What do you see when you really look at yourself in the mirror? I see a talkative girl who loves to be the center of attention (on some occasions), who isn't always as secure in herself as she would like to be, but embraces the way God made her and loves livin life! :D

4. What is your favorite summer cold drink? A big ole glass of sweet tea! ^_^

5. When you take time for yourself, what do you do? Usually I get on the computer, check my email, or my blog, then I'll either go read a book, or do something random like paint my nails. :)

6. Is there something you still want to accomplish in your life? Uh, yeah! There's lots of things. Like, I would love to take Crown Ministries (something my parents were involved in which teaches you how to manage your money [erm, God's money] correctly). I would also love to get my DL, duh. Haha! :D Also, learning Spanish would be very useful and I hope to learn it before I graduate. Those are just some of the things I would still like to accomplish. :)

7. When you attended school, were you the class clown, the overachiever, the shy person, or always ditching? None of the above, really. I loved to talk and I basically thought I was at school to make new friends. lol :D

8. If you close your eyes and want to visualize a very poignant moment in your life, what would you see? I'll have to get back to you on that.

9. Is it easy for you to share your true self in your blog, or are you more comfortable writing posts about other people and events? I love to share things about myself on my blog (since, of course, it is my blog), but I also love to tell about my Savior, so I try not to make it all about me. :)

10. If you had the choice to sit down and read a book, or talk on the phone, which would you choose and why? Well, I strongly dislike talking on the phone. I'm terrible at communicating things and carrying on a conversation over the phone, but then again reading isn't a fad of mine. I just read whenever I get a new book I've been wanting. So it just depends on my mood at the moment. :)

If you would like to do this tag or receive this award, consider yourself tagged. ^_^
~~~~~
So a few months ago I posted and said I received a "new" phone. My mom got an upgrade, so I got her old phone. Technically it wasn't new, but it was new to me. Aaaanyways, I'm goin off on a rabbit trail... yesterday I really did get a NEW phone (yes, a real upgrade at last!:) I got this bad boy:
Oh how I love my new phone. ^_^ It's so much better than my old Motorola. :) It takes great pictures and videos, and it doesn't sound like the person on the other line is drowning. Ha! I don't text, so for all those texters out there, you might not like the phone just because it doesn't have a mini keyboard, but I for one am in L<3VE! *swoon* I haven't named my phone yet (yes, I am going to name my phone. Don't laugh). Got any suggestions? :)
Also, dad got his gumption on Tuesday (Jan 25). He has been buzzing around outside, fixing a car for a friend, talk, talk, talkin' like there's no tomorrow, and he's feeling great! Praise God!! I hope you all have had a blessed week and that your weekend is stupendous! ^_^
Hey There Old Chum
I just realized, it's been a while since I've done a tag. Well, a certain sweet-someone has cured me of this. Bleah Briann tagged me!
Now I must post the rules, even though I usually don't follow them. Hey! They're more like suggestions, anyways... right? >_>
"Pick your favorite musical artist/movie star/famous whoever -- and post a picture (or two, or three, or four) of him, and what it is about him that you love, and what it is about him that you might hope for, for whoever God has planned for you for your future."
I am actually picking the same person that Bleah did, to do this tag on, because I love his character so much. :) Our tags are going to sound a lot alike, because we both like him for the same reasons, but I will do my best to make my answers... different. ^_^
Adam Young, also known as Owl City.
. His Creativity
M'kay, so who doesn't love Adam for his creativity? Hello! The guy is a creative genius! His songs are so beautiful, so poetic and so original. He took a big step in writing songs that were... different. But a good different they have turned out to be. :) If you hear one of Adam's songs for the first time (or two), it's easy to write him off as another weirdo who sings about brushing his teeth and fireflies fox trotting above his head, but if you sit and actually listen to his music, it starts making you feel good. Adam's music is not the kind to be picked apart. No, his music is to be enjoyed. Yeah, some of his songs seem pointless, but that's the point, isn't it? o.0 I love sitting down, putting my earphones in and listening to some Owl City, while doodling in a notebook or something. It's fun, 'cause it kinda makes you let go. It makes you feel... happy. ^_^ Adam's music never fails to put me into a bubbly, good mood, even on days when I'm not feeling so chipper. :)
. His Faith
I admire Adam for his faith that never wavers. Yeah, the guy has faults, but compromising is not one of them. I didn't know he was Christian when I first started listening to him, but after listening to a few of his songs I wondered if he was. You just get this feeling about him, that he's... different. :) And that's because he is. Adam clearly states in his Christmas song that "he believes that Jesus is truly the only way". How neat is that? I mean, he could keep his religion on the down low and not advertise it, which would probably get him even more fans, but he doesn't. Adam isn't ashamed of his Savior and I admire him for that.
. His quirks
Okay, please tell me I'm not the only one who thinks Adam is a little quirky? Come on people he has his quirks, but you know what... I like it. He's not a flawless guy who's drop dead gorgeous, but you know what... I like that. It makes him real. I love Adam and all his quirks. They're cute. ^_^ There's just no other way to describe it.
. His Diligence & Passion
Not only does Adam have a passion for Christ, but he has a passion for music as well! Adam truly does love to sing. And he loves to sing his music, not what the world wants him to sing. He's truly happy being his own person. You don't hear him saying, "Oh, you know, I think I'll try going country for a while," or, "Hmm, maybe I'll start writing about things that make sense," (lol:) Adam loves what he does. He loves his music, his fans, and his career. And he's so diligent! He loves to please his fans, but not in a way that would make him compromise who he is, or what he believes. He's a diligent artist and a passionate one. Music isn't just a bunch of words with a catchy tune, to him. It's music! He loves it and that really shows in his songs, and in the way he performs.
I picture myself marrying someone like Adam. No, not someone who looks like Adam, not someone who sings like Adam, not someone who's famous like Adam. I'm talking about someone who has a similar character. Someone with a creative personality. Someone who isn't afraid to be himself. Someone who doesn't compromise. Someone who's diligent and passionate at what he does. I admire Adam Young, because his character is a work of art. ^_^
M'kay, so I'm gonna tag:
Katie
Ali
Anna Gray
~Lily
And if there's anyone else out there who wants to do it, feel free. :)
Miscellany Monday
Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
{1} Well, not much has changed with dad. He's about the same. Tired, sleepy, a bit grumpy from the steroids and still in the Hospital. :) I just got off the phone with mom and she said they're tapering him off the steroids, using steroid pills (no longer the infusions) and it's making him really sleepy. I got to tell dad I love him and tell him goodnight, and he sounded like he was about to fall asleep. lol :D Dad will have two more treatments of plasmapheresis (which they do every other day) so if there's no complications (like, having to postpone one of the treatments because of low platelets) he should be home this Friday or Saturday. But you never really know until the doctor kicks 'em out. ;)
{not my photo}
{2} I babysat again today (go figure). And, praise God, it was a very good day!! I called mom before Munchkin's dad came to pick me up and asked her to pray for me and Munchkin, and she did. My sisters and I also pray together every night, and last night we prayed for me to have a good day babysitting. You see, Munchkin isn't always on his best behavior and when he isn't that means he's either sick, or his allergies are bugging him. But today and Saturday were very good days. I'm so excited and I am so thankful that God answered my prayers! :)
The little munchkin himself. ;)
Whoa! Piling Up!
Wow, I have four tags to do! Ladies, I'm sorry for not getting to them sooner. Here we go. :)
This one is from Miss Raquel @ God's Daughter. Thanks Raquel!
one-- What picture does your calendar have for the month of October? My calendar doesn't have a picture. :)
two-- What are three things that you can grab from where you're sitting? A remote, a pink cup, a watch. Haha, those are some odd things. lol :D
three-- What is something that you've been collecting since you were really young...and sometimes think to yourself 'hm...I'm kind of outgrown for this', but just can't stop? Umm, I collected hot wheels at one time, but I don't anymore. You see, my Pa-pa has a big collection out in his garage, and I thought, "Hey, I want to start a collection!" I had this idea to find those really odd, one-of-a-kind hot wheels to collect. I did! But I gave a lot of them away. I had close to 100, now I just have, like 40 something.
four-- Something that you absolutely...DISLIKE that everyone else seems to love: Boiled eggs. I cannot stand the smell of them. Yuck!
five-- What was the last movie you watched? Ummm.... It's been a really long time since I've seen a movie. I really don't remember. I think it might have been Jurassic Park 3, but I'm not sure.
six-- Who was the last person you hugged? My momma, the day she left to take dad to the hospital (Tuesday). I know. You're thinking "it's been three days since you've hugged someone?!" but I'm not a huggy person. I like to hug my mom and that's about it. lol :D If you're reading this mom, I love you! :)
seven-- What is your favorite meal to cook? Chicken strips, mashed potatoes and gravy. Mmm, mmm!! :D I make some GOOD chicken strips, if I do say so myself. :)
eight-- What kind of sheets are on your bed right now? (texture, pattern/color, etc.) They're plain, light brown. :)
Now a tag from Hope Marie @ Walking with Him.
whoever wants to do it! Yeah Bleah, I broke the rules. :P
Tag #2:
one-- What time do you wake up each morning? Why? I got up at 8am to do the morning barn chores with Narthea.
two-- You've just woken up, and you're thirsty. You fix yourself a glass of.... orange juice or water. haha :D
three-- Where do you go to school? What do you like/dislike about it? I'm homeschooled and I love it. :) I really wouldn't have it any other way.
four-- How many siblings do you have? What are their names and ages (if you're allowed to share)? Narthea is 17, going on 18 in December. Esara is 13. Caldirwen is 11, going on 12 in December.
five-- What is your favorite game to play with your family? Farkle! Aka Game of Ten Thousand (though there is a slight difference in the scoring between the two games, but some people are like "Farkle?!" lol :) or Scrabble!
six-- What's the silliest thing you've ever done with your siblings, cousins or any other family member? Would you do it again if you could? My friends, my sisters and I make stupid videos. Either we dance really crazy, or we come up with totally randome skits. Haha. It is SO fun! :)
seven-- What's your favorite game to play with your friends? Same as Bleah, hide and seek in the dark! It's THE best game ever!! :D
eight-- If you could meet one person in the whole wide world (who's currently alive), who would it be? Why would you want to meet that person? What would you say to them? I would wanna meet my friend Bleah and I'd say, "Bleah, I love you girl!!! I cannot believe we're finally meeting!!!" Then I'd gather her up in a HUGE bear hug (even though I'm not a huggy person) and I'd never let go. haha :D Bleah and I... we're besties... twins, seperated at birth... kindred spirits... call it what you want, we're tight! :)
nine-- If you could meet one person in the whole wide world (from the past), who would it be? Why would you want to meet that person? What would you say to them? I would wanna meet Jack Lord, because I have a secret crush on him *shh*. ;) Ever seen the tv show Hawaii 5-0? Well, for a few months, I was obsessed with that show! Literally. Obsessed. I'm not sure what I would say. I might faint. lol :D
ten-- What is your favorite way to worship God? Singing, dancing, playing an instrument, praying, fasting? I love to sing for God! I love singing, and using it to worship Him, the One who gave me my talent, is just... lovely. :)
eleven-- "God cares about the little things of life." Do you agree? Can you give specific examples of ways that God has shown Himself in the little things of your life? Yeah! I completely agree! I can't pin point any examples from my life, but I've seen it in other people's lifes. Plus, you can tell by reading the Bible. In the Old Testament, with all the ceremonies and such, they were so specific, right down to the last, smallest thing.
twelve-- Is there a particular Bible verse that has stood out to you recently? Which verse and why? The same as Bleah, "Do not worry about tomorrow because tomorrow will take care of itself." Told you we were kindred spirits. ;)
thirteen-- Your parents are out for the day, leaving you home alone (with your siblings). Then, your grandmother from out of state calls and says she'll be there in fifteen minutes. (She wasn't supposed to come until tomorrow) What do you do? I greet her with open arms and a big ole' cheesy smile. :D I love my grandparents. :):):)
fourteen-- Have you ever traveled out of country? Why did you go? No, I haven't. But I will someday!! :D
fifteen-- What sport do you play and what do you enjoy about it? I don't play sports. :)
sixteen-- Do you like cats or dogs better? If neither, specify: I think I would have to say dogs. :) But I wouldn't want one in my future home, because we currently do have a house dog, and he's such a mess! It's just too much if you ask me. lol :D
seventeen-- Country or city? Country absolutely!!! :D :D :D I'm a COUNTRY girl ALL. THE. WAY!!! :D
eighteen-- Cowboy hat or prairie bonnet? I'm with Bleah (again), neither. I'd rather have a barrett or a cap. :) I love caps.
nineteen-- Flipflops or tennis shoes? Flipflops, totally! :D
twenty-- Do you like my (Bleah Briann's) blog? Well of COURSE I love her blog!! :D That's how we met, through her more-than-lovely blog! :):):)
If any of you want to do the tags listed above, you are more than welcome to do them! And click here to read the latest "quick update" on my dad, if you haven't already. :)
Two Tags
I was tagged once by Cori, and once by Nela, so I have two tags to do! They're the same tag, but with different questions each, so I'll still do them both. :)
Rules: You are given 8 questions from the person who tagged you before, your job is to answer them, write 8 questions of your own, then tag 8 people with your questions.
Cori's questions:
one-- If you could only use 1 color to paint your whole house with, which would you pick? I'd pick a light brown. :)
two-- If you were a plant of any kind which would you be, and why? A bluebonnet because they're blue, pretty, and they smell so sweet. :)
three-- If you could have as many siblings as you wanted, how many would you have? 3, because that's how many I do have and 3 is my number. :)
four-- If you woke up with one super ability what would it be, and what would do with it? I would want the power to be able to touch peoples hearts (metaphorically speaking), and make a change. :) Also, being able to turn invisible would be nice, too. lol
five-- If your closet was one big clothing store, which one would you chose? Factory Connection, or Old Navy! :D
six-- If you could control the weather and its climate to make where you live any season you wanted forever, which season would you pick? Spring. :)
seven-- If you could have been born in any time period which time period, and for which specific reason? I'm not really sure. I like being born in 1994, because if Jesus doesn't come back before 2018, I can meet John Conner. ;P And don't you dare say he's not real! lol
eight-- If everyone had one theme song for their life which would yours be? Sunshine Girl by Britt Nicole.
Nela's questions:
one-- If your writing a book what would be the title, plot, and characters? I'm gonna have to name a fake one, because I am writing a book, and I don't wanna give anything away. lol :D Let's see... I'd title it Falling Stars. It would probably be a Christian/sci-fi about saving the world or something, haha. With lots of action. :P The main character would most likely be a teenage girl who is just like me. Haha. I always create a character who's a lot like me. :) Am I the only one? lol :D
two-- What animal would you prefer to be for a day? Black panther. Love those! They're so pretty.
three-- Did you ever have a baking disaster? (like the cake didn't turn out right, or the cookies were too thin, etc) If you did, what happened? Um, yes. Several times. One time it spilt over into the bottom of the oven and started smoking... One time I forgot the eggs and it never cooked up... One time I made a pie that was hard as a rock... yeah, you get the point. lol :D
four-- Whose you favorite Christian singer? Barlow Girl, Britt Nicole and Toby Mac. :)
five-- Tell about your favorite birthday celebration that you've personally experienced: Ummm... I can't think of one. I love them all! :D
six-- What is something you've done that you never thought you'd do? Drive up a mountain and stand near the edge for a picture. I was terrified. lol :D
seven-- If you could add any person to Mount Rushmore, who would you add and why? Me! lol Just kidding! :P Umm... I'd add... idk. lol :D
eight-- If money were no obstacle, what would be the perfect birthday gift to receive? An iPod! Or iPad! Or getting to visit my awesome friends who live far off!! :D Yeah, that's the best one!
I just wanted to ask you to pray for my dad. He is not doing well right now, at all. :(
Tagged!
Elizabeth @ A Collection of Reflections tagged me! Thank you, Elizabeth. :)
{one}-- What are your favorite songs of all time? Hmm... one song that has been a favorite of mine for as long as I remember is As The Deer. My mom used to sing it to me when putting me to sleep. I was probably about four or five years old. Another song I have loved for years is Leave the Pieces by the Wreckers. Narthea and I used to sing that song all the time (and still do), that's when we first realized how good our voices sounded together. :) I can't really think of any others that have consistently been a favorite of mine. I love all kinds of music, so it's awfully hard to choose! :)
{two}-- Have you found something you really want? Yes! A Cannon Powershot G11! Right now I have a Nikon Coolpix L16. It's a decent camera, but I still would love to have a Powershot G11. :) Haha, it's a good thing I have a job now. ;)
{three}-- What's the funniest fact about you? For starters, when I'm reading a book I seriously get emotionally attached to the main character. Haha, yeeeeah. >_> Same thing when I'm watching a movie, or a tv show. But not just any movie/tv show. I'm quite picky. I love action, drama and mystery. I'm not much of a chick flick kinda girl. If it's "my kinda movie/tv show", that's when I get attached. And it's not always the main character. Sometimes it's a character that I can relate to, or one that I just like. :) That's the case with Percy Jackson, Jack Shepherd, and Jack Bauer. There's others, but those are the main ones. :)
{four}-- Do you ever get jealous of your BFF, and why is that? Never. And I don't have one BFF, I have several! :) I never get jealous of them, because I love them too much to be jealous!
{five}-- What was the first magazine you had and you liked so much? Brio Magazine. I got so much inspiration and encouragement from those magazines, but then they discontinued them. *cries*
{six}-- If you win a prize of 100 million dollars, what will you buy? Oh wow! First I'd faint. Haha. Then I'd buy clothes, an iPad, a Cannon Powershot G11, I'd save some of the money, give some to my parents, and tithe with it. That's what I'd do. :)
{seven}-- What was your craziest dream (dream in your sleep)? I have dreams all the time where I'm in a Church, running from some serial killer. I'm running through a Church with some girl I met there, and we keep hearing these footsteps behind us, on the floors above us, and beneath us, so we start running. There's endless stairs, hallways, doors and rooms. The floors are marble and usually I slip and fall, then we keep running and we can't find our way out, and everywhere we go we hear the footsteps all around us. Then there's the dreams where I'm being chased by a Rapter, or T-rex (do you think I watch a little too much Jurassic Park? Nah;) and I'm just not running quite fast enough, and I get really frustrated. Then there's those dreams that are so embarrassing, you'd never tell anyone. Oh! And don't forget the ones that make absolutely NO sense. Haha, and my favorite, the dreams where you're getting married, but you can't see the guy's face and you're freaking out. lol :D Yep, my dreams are weird.
{eight}-- Why did you make a blog? I first made this blog to talk about LOTR, but then I got tired of just talking about that one subject, so I converted my blog to a personal one that's more about me, my faith, my family, my friends, and my personality. I found blogging a lot more enjoyable after that! I kept the theme, and the name because The Faithful Elven Princess was just too catchy and cute to toss. ;)
I tag:
I'm gonna break the rules (surprised? No?). :P I tag whoever wants to do this. :) If you do, let me know! Because I wanna read about everyone's crazy dreams and see if I'm the only one who dreams about dinosaurs, my wedding, and serial killers. lol :D
Tag and Movie Review
My dear friend Bleah tagged me the other day, and I am just now getting around to it. Sorry it took me a few days, Bleah. But, better late than never, right? ;)
Rules: (And Bleah specifically said I have to follow them. *sigh*)
You are given 8 questions from the person who tagged you before, your job is to answer them, write 8 questions of your own, then tag 8 people with your questions.
{one}-- Do you consider yourself a good person? Why or why not? "No one is good, except God alone." {Mark 10:18}
{two}-- Do you ever wish you lived someone elses life? Who's and why? There are pros and cons about everyone's life, so actually, I'm quite content with mine and I wouldn't trade it for the world. :)
{three}-- If you had one thousand dollars, and you could only buy one thing, and you had to keep it forever and ever, what would it be? Ummm, I would buy.... I have no idea!! That's too hard a question!
{four}--If you could only listen to one song for the rest of your life what would it be? Dear Brielle by Owl City! *heart melts*
{five}-- What is your favorite color pen? Blue!
{six}-- If you died today what do you wish you would have done? Or are you happy with your life up do date? Oh wow, there are a lot of things I wish I would've done! For starters, I wish I would've told everyone I love just how much I appreciate them (and love them!:). I wish I would've laughed more, listened more, loved more and lived more (haha, metaphorically speaking:).
{seven}-- Pick the three people in your life you would be willing to live in the same house with for the rest of your life: Well, you (of course) Bleah!! Um, let's see... my friend Haley and... my future husband. lol :D
{eight}-- If blogger ceased to exist today, how would that make you feel? Sad but time heals. *sniff* ;)
Now here are my questions:
{one}-- Who is your role model/hero? Why?
{two}-- What would you say is your God given talent?
{three}-- If it were up to you, what would you do with the rest of your life?
{four}-- If someone told you they had the ability to let you foresee your future, would you wanna do it? Why or why not?
{five}-- What is one of your pet peeves?
{six}-- What is one of your guilty pleasures?
{seven}-- If your mom gave you a choice between doing school, or chores, which would you choose?
{eight}-- What is the most daring thing you've ever done?
I tag:
Emily Shae
Haley
Zoe
Anna:)
Gwenea
Elizabeth Rose
Kay
and the first person who comments and says, "I wanna do it!" :)
Now for the movie review. A week or two ago I saw Letters to Juliet. I thought I would do a review on it!
Starring:
Amanda Seyfried
Chris Egan
Vanessa Redgrave
Gael García Bernal
Franco Nero
Rated:
PG for brief rude behavior, some language and incidental smoking.
Running time:
104 minutes.
Release date:
May 14, 2010
Plot:
Sophie Hall and her fiance Victor go on a pre-wedding honeymoon to Italy. While there, Sophie finds a letter, hidden in one of the bricks on the Juliet's Wall, from years ago. Sophie ends up joining the Juliet's Wall team of ladies who write back the girls who leave the letters on the wall, and she writes back the girl who wrote this letter from years ago. A few days later a young man, Charlie, comes with his grandmother, Claire, to find Sophie. Claire is the old woman who wrote the letter Sophie found. She and her nephew, along with Sophie, go searching through Italy for the man Claire loved when she was a teenager. While on their adventure, Sophie realizes her true feelings for her fiance Victor, and the one she really loves, Charlie. Will she and Charlie end up together? Or is it too late?
Positive:
The movie wasn't the greatest, but it was romantic, and at times, pretty humorous. So, for comedic, romance movie-lovers, you would probably enjoy this movie. There weren't any curse words, no sexual content (though, there was kissing) and no violence. The movie was clean (which you don't find that often in movies now days) and entertaining. A safe, fun "girls night" movie to watch with your girlfriends. ;)
Negative:
Other than being very predictable, the movie was really cheesy. The acting wasn't that great, and sometimes it was hard to hear/understand the characters. My mom and I got quite frustrated with the Amanda Seyfried actress, because she mumbled and talked quietly all throughout the movie, which caused us to have to sometimes rewind, turn up the volume and listen closely (we were watching it on satellite, so there were no subtitles).
My rating:
I give the movie a 3 out of 5 star rating.
I hope you enjoyed reading the tag and movie review! :)
