miscellany ramblings

Can I just say how much I love my new, beautiful, nook in the blogging world? Yesterday I spent at least 15 minutes sitting in front of the computer, staring at it. *sigh* I am incredibly happy. I can't stop gawking at it. :) The elegant header, the swirly fonts, the wide, clean layout... it's perfect. And yummy eye candy, I must say. Awel, you have really outdone yourself this time. :)

I was supposed to go to the dentist today, but momma had to cancel it because I have been sick with a cold. I mean, I can't have a dentist shoving tools down my throat while I'm coughing every five seconds. So, that was a no-brainer. I'm kinda sad. It might sound weird, but I actually like the dentist. :) Yes, laugh if you wish, but I have a good dentist... or so mom says. I haven't been to it yet. It's our family's new dentist, and only half of our family has gone. Everyone likes it (even my dad did, and he hates the dentist), so I'm sure I'll love it. The only thing I don't like is the first appointment, when they take x-rays of your teeth. They shove these plastic things in your mouth, that don't even fit, and then they pull your cheeks way out, exposing your teeth, making you look like a weirdo. Oh well. I still shall eagerly await my re-scheduled appointment. :)

I have been keeping my ill-self busy with an awesome book series. My lovely, amazing friend Taylor so graciously let me borrow it. Thanks Tay! The series is called Tumbleweeds. They're western romance books. I'm already on the third book, and I started reading them Monday night. I hope to be finished by tomorrow so I can get the book back to Tay. ;)

Elizabeth asked me how my dad was doing the other day. I have some good news, and some bad news. Good news first, because that's just how it goes. Dad is doing so good right now! He is better than he has been in MONTHS! It's wonderful. He's chipper and always smiling or laughing (he went through a grumpy stage so we're happy he's finally over that). Okay, now the bad news: we can't keep him inside. :D He has been outside working all the time (which hasn't happened in a long time). It's like he has one gear, now: go. It's a struggle for us to get him to rest, or take a nap. lol We decided to take down our pool, because it was expensive and no one really swam in it much this Summer. Narthea and I kinda got bored of swimming (but not tanning;), and my little sisters don't like to swim by themselves, so the pool sat alone this Summer, only visited for a few short hours every other week. Maybe not even that. Since part of the back porch had to be built up to reach the top of the 5ft pool wall, we have taken that part down since the pool is no longer standing, and we plan on extending the porch over, to reach the end of the house. It's gonna be nice. :) I'm gonna miss the pool. Even though I didn't swim in it very much. lol  Momma did say she wants to put it back up in a few years, for her future grandchildren. >_>
Dad says no, mom says yes. Ha! Good luck with that Momma. lol :D

Lovely Photo - Wordless or Not-So-Wordless Wednesday at Aspire

As some of you know, today is LPW at Hannah's blog. I am entering this photo of me. I've already posted it before, in fact it's my profile pic, but I really love it, so I felt it was worth sharing twice... er, three times. :)

I hope you're having a lovely Wednesday!

I like going to the dentist more than I do going to the doctor--my dentist is really good and he's nice. :)

I'm glad your dad is doing well!

Sounds like a good series, I might have to just try it out. I am in the middle of one two called Sopthie's daughters. By Mary Connealy. And again, I think that your blog background is GREAT! I think you have a good chance of winning with that picture!

Eeeeek! I love your blog! So elegant and pretty. Blue and white together is the best color combination EVER!
Funny, I went to the dentist a couple days ago...I love getting my teeth cleaned. Still praying for you Dad. Again, so sorry about a letter. I gotta get my backside off the office chair or school chair...I think I left my mind back in September and it is just catching up with me. LOL. TTYL,
Jillian

I'd rather pick flowers
Instead of fight
And rather than flaunt my style
I'd flash you a smile
Of clean pearly whites

I've been to the dentist
A thousand times, so I know the drill
I smooth my hair, sit back in the chair
But somehow I still get the chills

Sorry, when you said you missed the dentist, that's what I thought of. BD

p.s. I saw that you didn't think the post font was workin' well, if you want me to change it I can. :)
