Getting Into The Christmas Spirit

CHRISTmas is almost here and I don't know about you, but I am feeling very CHRISTmas-y...

"Christ the Savior is born."

Our tree topper:
Yep, a big, golden angel. ;)

"To us a child of hope is born."

I put together some decorations around the house, one of them including a flower vase with red ribbon stuffed in it and poinsettia's sitting in it:
Of course I "spiced it up" with some pine cones and little golden, swirly things (which I failed to get a pic of.)

Our friend that came to visit today made up a wreath and brought it to us:

Here's a wreath we received through the mail from an anonymous friend, hmm...

A little decoration on the top of the fireplace mantel:

My stocking:

Yep, we're ready for the "cold weather" and a big fire:

This afternoon Esara, Caldirwen and I made a gingerbread house. Here's some pics...

these were our decoration supplies:

The finished front side of the house:

A bird's-eye view:

Here's a close up of the roof:
And the finished product:
We had to use another piece of cardboard because the first one wasn't big enough for the walkway. :) I know, it's not the prettiest gingerbread house, but hey, we had fun!
Now remember, CHRISTmas isn't about Santa Clause, or Rudolph.... or Frosty the Snow Man, it's about the birth of a mighty, and glorious baby. A savior, who was born in a stable, wrapped in swaddling cloths, and placed in a manger. Merry CHRISTmas everyone! :)

Thanks, Lindsay! We had lots of fun! We loved eating the leftover hard-candies that are on the roof. I personally don't like gum-drops or icing, so I didn't eat any of the other leftovers. :)

Hugs,
Eldarwen

Cool! Oh and Jesus was REALLY born is a CAVE. The cave was meant to protect the animals from bad weather....predators and other things! Farmers and other people put everything in there...

I know, but everyone knows it as a "stable" so I didn't want to throw them off by saying, "a Savior, who was born in a cave". *giggle* :)

LOL! Ya, that would throw them off! LOL! That sounds a little odd..."A savior who was born in a cave...."LOL! Sounds much better as stable!

I have only ever seen ONE movie where they actually used a CAVE for Jesus to be born in! I forget the movie...but it was interesting!

I think you're thinking of my all time fav CHRISTmas movie called, "The Nativity Story"...?

~Evergreena~
I don't really like eating gingerbread houses. I don't like icing, I don't care for gooey candies that stick to my teeth and I don't like ginger. *shrugs shoulders* I know, you're probably thinking, "Then why'd you make it?" Well, I made it because I LOVE being creative and decorating things and... Esara and Caldirwen will definitely enjoy eating it! ;)

~Chloe~
Thank you! Yes, yes, post pictures, please!

~Libby~
Yeah, it looks yummy, but I don't think I'll take part in eating it. :)

Hugs to you all!
