Hangers

picture provided by art.com.

Okay, just by the title of this post you may be thinking, "This is going to be weird" and it may be... to you.

Today while I was doing laundry I had to find some hangers to hang some of our skirts and shirts. I went to my room... just a few plastic skirt hangers there. Maybe... 5? idk. Anyway, I checked Esara and Caldirwen's room... nothing. Then, I took what I found from our closets to the laundry room and hung what I could (which was not much at all). Then, I knew the next place to go... my parent's closet. I knew, without a doubt that there would be bunches of hangers there waiting for me. While I was pulling off the abundance of hangers, I starting thinking. I realized that, just like the bunches of hangers I receive from my parent's closet, I receive so much more from my parents. They've always got what I need. When I'm sad, or worried about something, I come to them. When I need help understanding a certain passage from the Bible, I go to them. And what do they always have to give me?... more knowledge and love. Just like their closet. Every time I go there looking for hangers I know there's going to be a plenty, and most of the time, more than I need at the moment. That's exactly how it is when I come to them with questions and such. They always have what I need. I just wanted to thank them for being such wonderful parents!

Mom:
I love you! Thanks for always being there for me to tell you my thoughts and frustrations. To express how I feel sometimes when someone has wrongly accused me or hurt my feelings. You've always picked me back up and told me, in a loving manner, what I did wrong and/or how to fix the situation. You've always had just what I was looking for.

Dad:
Thanks for listening to me when I'm telling you my thoughts on a passage from the Bible. You're always there to help me understand and grow in the Lord. Always ready to give me a hug when I need it. To let me sit in your lap (even thought I'm 15) when I need comforting. I love you!

Girls, and guys, I just want to encourage you all to remember that your parents love you. You may not realize it, but parents are there to help you. When they get you in trouble for doing something wrong, they're only doing it because they care about you. They are looking our for your best interest. They only tell you that "no you're not going to that party" because they want to protect you and keep you safe. A lot of teens take their parents for granted (I know, because I have). We just need a wake up call every now and then to remind all the good things about our parents. So, your challenge is to do a post about how much you appreciate your parents and why you appreciate them. You never know when you might wake up and your parents are gone. You never appreciate someone until they're not around, so let's make sure that we let them know how much we love them and how precious they are to us.

Thank you, mom and dad for the wonderful love and care you've given me. For keeping me safe and warm. Thanks for the abundance of hangers. :)

Your daughter who loves you very much,
~Eldarwen Failariel~
