Miscellany Monday

Miscellany Monday @ lowercase letters
And just in time. ;)

Dad is doing much better now that he has had 3 days of IV steroids (that's not all, though, he will be having a few more days worth). Tonight we had some family friends come over and pray with us. First we read scripture. The wife was saying how she strongly believes that dad is going to be delivered from this illness, as we all have been praying for and saying since day 1. Here are some of the verses that we read tonight.

{Psalm 18:2}
"The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. He is my shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold."

{Psalm 91:15}
"He will call upon me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor him."

{Psalm 118:7}
"The Lord is with me; he is my helper. I will look in triumph on my enemies."

And get this: my dad read scripture too! A week or two ago momma bought him a large print Bible and ever since then he has been able to read his Bible. Dad has had trouble with his vision off and on throughout the last year because of his MS, so we are very happy that he is reading, after going for quite a while without doing so! He prayed too. And immediately my mom, Narthea and I started crying. It felt so good to hear him pray. Dad has also had trouble with his speech, so it's been a while since we've heard him pray aloud. I could really tell that God was dwelling with us tonight.

{Matt 18:20}
"For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them."

It was such a blessing to read scripture and pray together. Thank you God for the wonderful friends you have blessed us with who encourage us in our walk with you!!

{Hebrews 10: 24-25}
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching."

Random pictures from my family's 2009 Summer vacation.

{In case you didn't notice, I am in love with the letter box feature on Picnik!}

I was looking through all the pictures I took (close to 300) when my family and I went on a Summer vacation last year. We had so much fun! We went south, to the beach, and stayed a couple of days. While we were there we visited museums, had an awesome time with some friends of ours who lived there, and we toured a battleship and clipper ship. It was an amazing experience and I have to say it was the best family vacation we ever had! Ah, memories... :)

I haven't heard anything else about either of my aunts, or their condition. If you didn't read about that, you can click here

I still cry everytime I think about my aunt Sherry's health, but I am continually praying for her healing, and for her kids to trust in the Lord throughout the whole ordeal!

My friend Jillian's sister, Caitlin, just got married. You can go here to congratulate them! :)

Also, I have another prayer request for ya. I'm just full of 'em aren't I? :)
The wife of the couple that came over tonight to pray with us has some health issues concerning her kidneys. I'm not going to go into any detail because I'm not sure if she wants everyone to know all about it, but I just wanted to ask you to pray for her healing and comfort. She's such a trooper and, even though she has some medical issues herself, she persistently prays for our family, and dad's healing. She has been such an encouragement to us all. I would just like to ask you to lift her up in prayer. :)

3 Greetings from Elven Friends
