Happy Independence Day!

I got this in an e-mail from a friend of mine, and thought I'd share this with all of you.

WHEN A SOLDIER COMES HOME
....he finds it hard....
....to listen to his son complain about being bored.

....to keep a straight face when people complain about potholes.

....to be tolerant of people who complain about the hassle of getting ready for work.

....to be understanding when someone complains about a bad night's sleep.

....to be silent when people pray to God from a new car.

....to control his panic when his wife tells him he needs to drive slower.

....to be compassionate when a businessman expresses a fear of flying.

....to keep from laughing when anxious parents say they're afraid to send their kids off to summer camp.

....to keep from ridiculing someone who complains about hot weather.

....to control his frustration when a colleague gripes about his coffee being cold.

....to remain calm when his daughter complains about having to walk the dog.

....to be civil to people who complain about their jobs.

....to just walk away when someone says they only get two weeks of vacation a year.

....to be forgiving when someone says how hard it is to have a new baby in the house.

The only thing that's harder than being a soldier....
....is loving one.

Take the time today to thank God for placing men in America (like our strong soldiers), so that we can have the freedom we have today!
Happy Independence Day!!

What a great reminder! We often forget what our troops go through, and I think it's so sad that we do. Happy Independence day to you!

@Amy: Dad is doing really, really good! We went to see him at the Hospital yesterday, and he was looking really good! He could talk and communicate really well! He understand most of what I was saying, too! It was SO nice to see him doing good! :) Thanks for asking! I'm going to do an update/post later today. :) I'm still praying for your dad!!

that was awesome! thanks for sharing! my brother is going to bootcamp in September. :( But I know he's doing it for God & Country. :) But then, he's joining the national guard not the army. My dad served in Iraq. :) The only time he got shot at was from the Marines (I think it was the Marines). They mistook Dad's company/platoon for insurgents in the dark and started firing. :) No one was hurt, just a few cracked windshields.
